HI All,
Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, what was the cost for importing the piston kits and who did you use for cylinder boring? I am in Brissie and looking to do the same

Cheers

Wow, can't believe no one was upgraded to a lrager cc. Anyway, if anyone is interested, SchnitzRacing finally got back to me with a quote of $361 Aus for a 685 kit with all the gaskets.

G'day

A couple of locals have used Wossner (German). The local distributor is Serco, who also can do the cylinder work. IIRC, Ray & Griffo.

Yep, I have a 1mm o/s Wossner in mine. Not sure which one Ray has, 2mm I think. He paid less for his with the rebore (from Serco in Brissie) than I paid for just the piston kit from the other disty......... excellent bit of kit, much better quality than the OEM piston. Pretty sure Ray approached Schnitz but the freight was as much as the piston kit.

Click on the link to the story on KLR NET.

Sorry im late again  net is ordinary here & with 2 klrr sites I miss things sometimes Sad

Best just ring upAllan at Serco at  Wooloongabba (Brisbane) & ask for a price. They specialize in small engines so have the right gear &expertise to get the job right.

From the story it only cost me $255 inc gst for the piston rings gudgeon clips&bore&hone barrel .
This was back in march 2010 so with inflation&carbon tax etc you should get it for under $500...maybe
