Hey all, I snapped off my mirror on the left hand side of my bike and would like to have a left mirror for my upcoming week long trip.  Does anybody have a functioning gen 1 left hand control they can sell me?  My trip is sept 9th, so I would have to get express post.

THanks.

i dont have one to get to you but i do have a possible suggestion.  back a long time ago, i broke mine off but i was lucky enough to have some threads remaining down inside of the mount. i took a file to smooth away the rough edges where it broke and then i just used the remaining thread.  maybe yours it completly busted but if not, try that.

I have the bottom couple threads, and then the reast is busted off.  I have in on there with a big glob of loctite PL construction adhesive, but I don't trust if for the long haul.  I was thinking jb weld too, but it's ugly.  I have a couple controls from other bikes I could put on there, but they are bigger and clunkier and I would rather a proper KLR unit...If I can't find one I may just take some duct tape and wrap it around a few times to hold it on tight and then just replace it when I get back.
