Hey Folks... I am amazed given all the problems with the klr650  counter balance tensioner.. the local kawi dealer in Moncton NB has no idea what you are talking about  Hmmmmm... when you mention doo hickey in trying to find a local supplier of the eagle mike counter balance chain tensioner {doo hickey}...The local Kawi dealer do not even acknowledge a problem.The closest dealer for the Eagle Mike part is in Ontario{at least that i could find}.. i am making the offset 32mm wrench and jack stud to remove the starter ring gear to see if i even have a doo problem on this second hand 98 i bought.
Also.. a local bolt supplier sells the metric prevailing torque nut for the counter shaft sprocket... i have it being dropped off here in Sackville NB. I will be machining out the area next to the spline to duplicate the old style nut in this area...this will save the hassle of using that washer that needs "bent" over every time a front sprocket is swapped. If anybody in the area is looking for any of these things give me a shout ..save blazing the same trail :o)

Hi Altitude .. Thanks for the info.. i might take you up on jack stud loan when your done that screws into the rotor...  i just  finished making the 32 mm off set wrench needed. Are you  using the regular type spring on the  Doo or the torsion spring?
I mentioned the prevailing torque nut in the post .. they have them at maritime fasteners in Moncton its 20mm x 1.5mm pitch. i will let you know their part number when i get mine via PM if your interested??{Nut was  back ordered and suppose to be in any day}
