Hi guys....we are trying to get a meet and greet happening this May on the 10-11 weekend in the Minden Haliburton area.
It will be a campout with the possibility of motels for the guys who don't like camping. Camping will be at a campsite not in the woods.
We hope to have many trails for the guys who want trails, self guided by GPS and maps. and scenic backroads for the slower older more senile bunch who ride mostly on road. again GPS and map guided.
So, if you are interested...chime in and say so...anyone is welcome as this is a meet and greet not a KLR soley event. We hope to get as many KLRs as humanly possible to show up.
There are miles and miles of trails in this area as well as hundreds of miles of winding backroads...so I'm sure we can find something for everyone to do.
I am not going to book anything for anyone...there are many motels etc up there and we can all organize ourselves I'm sure...that way we all get what we perfer...ok??? I will find a campsite for us to all stay at though but don't have one in mind yet.  If anyone has any ideas or wants or anything...now's the time to say...please let us know...

Thanks guys and gals ...like I said everyone's welcome, so if you have a buddy who has a street bike and wants to join in...feel free..I do..

Although....I perfer we don't have a race weekend...thanks thumb

OK..guys and gals....I have found a good Motel and campground that is motorized sport friendly. They have many bike rides and ATV gatherings throughout the year from what I was told. They have a $25 a head charge for their rooms or a flat rate of $50 per room for a 2 night stay. Some rooms are kitchenettes for a bit more. their camping is either fully hooked up for $25 a night or basic camping for $20.... They have an inground pool( not sure whether or not it will be open on our weekend, not that I'm going for a dip) They have wash areas for washing your bikes off after trail riding. They are connected to the ATV trails ..for your conveinience, whether or not you use that...???
The name is South Wind Motel.... WWW.southwindmotel.ca
Take a look and let me know what you think..
If you are happy with this place...I have a better deal for rooms than the average guy...the rates are what I said above..our rate that is...a saving of $5 or so from normal rates.
If you want to see what is around the area please go to the Haliburton ATV site and take a tour of their site. www.haliburtonatv.com There is plenty to see that we can use..I think..

So what do you think?? OK ?

So lets get going and post up who's in...Thanks

Hi Guys:

Sorry...I thought everyone knew to meet at the South Winds motel...sorry....here is what i got off their website for directions.

How to get here
6254 County Rd 121

From East Toronto -North on Hwy 404 to the end and then East along Green Lane. to Hwy. 48. Continue on 48 North until you reach the stop lights at Hwy. 35. Turn left and drive North about 15 min. past Norland to County RD 121, just south of Minden. Turn right and go 3km, the South Wind is on your left.
From West Toronto - From Hwy. 401, take Hwy. 400 North. This becomes Hwy. 11 just North of Barrie. Exit at Hwy 12 South and follow the signs for Rama Rd (Casino Rama). Turn left on Rama Rd, then right at the first lights on Cty Rd 45. Follow 45 till it ends in Kinmount at Cty Rd 121, about an hours drive. Turn left and drive north for 10km, the South Wind is on your right.
From Ottawa - Take Hwy. 417 (the Queensway) West toward Pembroke (Hwy 417 turns into Hwy. 17). Take Hwy. 132 to Renfrew and stay on Hwy. 32 until it ends at Hwy. 41. Turn South on Hwy. 41 to Denbigh. At Denbigh, take Hwy. 28 through Bancroft to Hwy 118 and into Tory Hill. There, take Cty Rd 503/45 to Kinmount. Go north from Kinmount on 121 for 10 kms and you will see the South Wind on the East side of 121.

From North Bay - Take Hwy. 11 South to Huntsville and then Hwy. 60 to Dwight. Take Hwy. 35 South through Minden to Cty Rd 121. Go south 3kms to the South Wind, on the East side of 121.

Hope this helps everyone

I think he's comin up fri night but me and Koi should be there in the afternoon-sometime-depending on detour-side roads-and the occasional stripperbar-can;t pass those up WOW!

Hi guys:

I need to know who is showing up on friday evening or late afternoon and who is showing up saturday morning...please.
The reason being...It would be nice to know when people are planning on getting to the motel on saturday morning. That way we can plan on a time we can leave for the rides on saturady. that way the guys who have showed up friday won't be waiting too long for the ride staurday.  Man it's confusing...lol
Also...plans for breakfast saturday morning could be find a greasey spoon somewhere near and have an old fashioned bacon and egg type breakfast while we wait for the guys who are planning on going up saturday morning.  What you say?  Plus I plan on either hitting  Subway for lunch or maybe stopping saturday morning and getting a sub to take with me for lunch.  Unless others have a better solution....I'm all ears...?

So can we have a show of hands ...who is planning on a friday entrance and who is doing the early saturday morning apperance???  Also...what do we think about lunch and breakfast ideas???  This is a democracy...almost..lol

See you there.
