Have a suggestion that would make KLRWorld.com (the Website, not the Forums) better?

LMK here and thanks!

Hondo,
Just thinking w/fingers on the keyboard:
Would there be a way to build a comprehensive spreadsheet/matrix of available aftermarket mods?
Kind of like a living data base that would have things like:

Example:
item: muffler
aftermarket muffler #1
Product specs.... pros ... cons
possible procurement sources... links for pictures?
KLRworld feedbacks... reviews

aftermarket muffler #2 ....etc.

aftermarket muffler #3.... etc.

Think another similar type thing is the tire review that bigcee linked to for tire info.

The only reason I bring this up is... as a newbie I am constantly souring the web for possible upgrades.
Weeding through threads gets confusing (especially when you are taking notes or saving as a favorite to refernce later).

Think you are doing a great job building the tech. how to area of the forum...
Just trying to figure out what is available to up grade and then to narrow it down to what I want to farkle with...

Sweet... having the gurus (aka moderators) distilling their knowledge into a list(s) would definitely cut down on redundant questions and really help us newbies who don't know what is out there... Thanks

I would like the home page not to open with all the sub-forums (?) open. I think I counted 61 of them. Or would adjusting my settings change that?

Jim,
On the left hand side of each of the forum headers is a little box with a - sign in it. If you click on the - it turns it to a + and the forum closes down to just the header. Makes it a lot easier to just have the forums open that you decide.

Hey one of my thoughts which your probably working on. Is for instance when you click on upgrades only a bike with arrows shows up.Well I know to look to the left and you will see the list. But for anyone that is kinda internet ignorant they will just see a bike with arrows .So maybe just drag those links or whatever over so people don't have to think for themselves.By the way the homepage looks awesome!

Try Stromtoopers.com, they are a good group but don't care much for our kind of riding.

Hi

I am new to the site...  and already i have 8 hours of time logged and numerous "favorites" added to my computer so i can reference things like the vacuum line removal from fuel cock/gravity feed fuel supply.  in short.. a wonderful resource.. job very well done folks. thumb
I would like to suggest something.. but have no idea where it would be on the klrworld site {ref forum or not}if a mapping utility was used.
In the Candian down east portion of the forum  http://klrworld.com/forums/index.php/topic,18604.0.html
i suggested trying to have a way.. for a member to enter something that would look like a highlighted map of a upcoming trip. This way members who reside along the planned trip route could direct road trip members to the "roads to take ..or things to see" "or avoid". maybe then the person who submitted the highlighted map  could edit the highlighted route based on feedback?I have always found that the best resource for enjoying what beauty a  area has to experience.. is through the people who live there.. if we could just tap into it More before the trip begins :o)

safe riding

What I would recommend is using Google Maps.

Once you have an account you create routes, post fuel stops, hotels, food, ect on the map. You can plot out each day in a different color (on one map) or do separate maps for each day.

once you make your maps/routes, you can post a link to the maps for others to see or embed them in the post.

If you want to make a change in the routes you can easily do that.
