Hey guys, great site, dont see many kiwis, they must be all out riding. 09 Blk here, just picked up to replace my stolen  Arrrrg! 04 model.  Love the new bike. Was a big four man in the past, now I realise my mortality and looooove dual sport riding. Someone mentioned to me to make sure mine is not restricted, I didnt think we had any NZ models restricted, if so would be good to know and better to know how the hell to un restict it. ?

Welcome Deano!

The slide needs to be modified, the extra hole filled in (I believe).

We get the canadian models in here in NZ so no need to worry about de-restriction.

I forgot to ask for pictures of places you ride.

I might be going on a trip out your way in the spring (your fall), with some friends from work. Looks like a great place to explore.

You have entered a place that will help you get the most out of you new toy! Keep us updated on your mod progress.

You are right, there are some great places to explore with a good mixture of off road, highway, and rural riding. Plenty of places to stop and take in the view. Absolutely keep in touch if you are going to be here. You need to look around the country and like most, the largest city can be the most boring so you need to get into the smaller areas and see the real country. Are you bringing bikes?, becasue you can also hire KLR's if thats the plan.

I would probably rent, unfortunately I'm the only biker, but we all like to explore.

Keep us posted on your upgrades.

Cheers.

Hi fellow Kiwis

I have watching this great site for some time now and picked up a great second hand 08 back in February.

Are there any other KLR's in the Waikato?????
