I'm having the same problem and was considering wearing this over my regular work boots.
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/41/520/ITEM/Tour-Master-Deluxe-Boot-Rain-Covers.aspx
I'm thinking if it aint perfect at least it's cheap and should be efective in the rain. My feeling is if it's quality and exactly what I want, I don't mind paying allot for it. If it's not both, then it better be cheap!

I have been wearing the same SIDI Discovery pair for many years. No breakin, feel like bedroom slippers, can walk all day in them, waterproof, dry toesies.Worth the $ if you want something to last.I even wear them at the local MX track and hare scrambles.Good stuff.
I have had them for a month now and I love them! I use them everyday. They look like they will out last me.

After spending the last 3 Months sitting on my arss because of wearing improper boots (look at my avitar) I bought my self a GOOD pair of boots, Aplinestar Tech 3's. In just the last week I have been able to put them on and "test fit" them, feel good so far but I go in to have the hardware removed this morning so it will be another couple of weeks before I can go out and ride again.

Q, I've been looking at these boots. How do they compare to other boots, width-wise?
I have a short wide foot. I am now wearing Alpinestars Web Gortex boots. They are one of the few boots that are wide enough for me. I'm wondering if all Alpinestars are similar?

Since my right foot is still a little swollen, they are just a little snug on that foot. The left foot feels just great. I to generally wear size 10 but I have a extremely HIGH arch and most shoes need to be wider for my foot to even fit. I forgot to mention that these are size 11.
I will give my foot a few more weeks to heal after this morning and then I will be able to tell better..

I have a pair of Tech 3's and they are comfy. They run a little big in size, I normally wear a 12 and 11 fit me well. There seems to be a fair amount of adjustment in them to accomodate various foot widths. If you plan on any wet weather or stream crossings get some Gore-tex or Sealskinz to keep your feet dry.

The verdict is in.
and a
I have been able to go out and ride 2 times now with the Alpinstar Tech 3's. The
ONLY
problem that I encountered on my rides was the possibility of slippage off of the pegs when wet and damp, Might have to look into metal pegs.

if you're still on the stock pegs, most any aftermarket item will be better for wet/muddy traction. there are many threads on replacements.

These are good. I've had them for a year and they are pretty good!! Springs will have to be sourced elsewhere.

UPDATE:
I have had my SIDI Discovery Rain's since summer, and I love them. Not a drop in the hardest rain, and they are great for walking around in. I took them for a 500 mile run to the snow and back with some thick hunting socks and my feet were warm. They were expensive, but I use them every day, so they are worth it to me. I give them a big

Good stuff. There is a new SIDI boot out this year that looks like a hybryd of the rain and crossfire. I will locate the link and post it up...

Does anyone have an opinion on the tourmaster solution waterproof boot? I am looking for a boot I can afford and will offer some decent protection and be waterproof. Pretty tall order. I know.

I have a pair of these. They are quite comfortable, and tend to run bit big in the toe box area. I needed to put a thicker insole in them to take up the extra space. Waterproof? Mostly. My feet got wet during an extended ride in a heavy downpour. I switched to a pair of Sidi Strada Rain boots, I like them better than the Tour Master's and my feet have never gotten wet while wearing them.

I've had my Tourmaster Solution boots since October 2009 and use them to commute every day in the Pacific Northwest. My feet have never gotten wet (or cold for that matter), but my heavy downpour experience is limited to 1 and a half hours max at highway speeds. I'm not sure how Willius or other folks wear their boots, but I have my pants on the outside of the boots.
They probably don't have the features or protection that boots like SIDI rain boots have, but they work very well and are holding up fine considering I use them daily. They seem hard to beat for a value-solution. I bought all my gear at a local dealership and paid $100 for them - not bad for a durable waterproof boot with decent protection.

saw a pair of aerostitch combat touring boots on ebay, size 10.5 in great shape, a little big for me or I'd have bid.
