Save $25.00, saw the ends of the lever off to the length you want, dress with a file, you don't even have to take the stock levers off the bike  Awesome

cway - I like the side racks a lot have dropped it a few times in the sand out here

"tell us a little more about the shorty clutch lever. where did you get it and how do you like it. Is it KLR specific or a universal type."

I dropped mine in the driveway and broke my front brake lever off a bit.  I liked the length so much I cut the clutch down to match and just capped the ends with some rubber pieces I had laying around in the garage.  You could always just let nature decide like I did.

That's what I did. Ineeded a little clearance after installing brushguards so I just put mine on the bench grinder.

Great idea!! Way to go!

Have you had the ZG shield installed without the stock shield and what is the difference, more or less wind turbulence?

10. Barkbusters
11. Centerstand
12. MSA Windshield.
13. Some crappy driving lights that went out within 20 miles of driving with them on.

I really like the look with the stickers off.  Do they come off pretty easy?  Any good tricks to help me out?

hair dryer to heat them up, then they pull off easy. Clean up with 90 pecent rubing alcohol. that stuff will just wipe off the goo and not hurt the paint.  I use to do decal work  thumb

I used a heating blanket to heat up my decals.  I'm not too precise when it comes to mixing heat and plastic so I thought the blanket would give even heat.  It worked pretty well for me.  Very clean and easy, I didn't have any sticky mess to clean up after.

I don't see anything too recent on who has donme what to their new model rides so I figured I'd start something.

Here is a link to my 2009 KLR. I am a noob with only 3000 + miles on my first bike ever so I am keeping it too clean and staying on the streets for now. I got motivated to buy a KLR from the forums so thanks for getting my rear in the saddle. Should have done it lon long ago. banghead

I have stripped the decals off, added SW-Motech crashbars and center stand, MRA Vario Touring shield, Kawi tail bag, saddle bags and handlebar bag. I have planned a lot more such as custom light installs front and rear and a tank bag.

I'm looking forward to getting lots of long rides in as soon a spring appears. I am still riding when the ice and salt is off the streets but that is days apart. Ride on!

Check out the supersonic stealth BLACK KLR......... Way to go!

HI all ,I`m from Jeffreys Bay in SA, not big on intro`s ,so here goes .I bought my new KLR 4 months ago after a long absence from biking,39 years Now listen up....
I have done a couple of mods I thought necessary.
Motech crashbars.
Motech center stand --modified to work properly.
Motech GPS bracket with bag to fit on crossbar.
Fog lights.
Barkbusters.
Cleaned up the rear mudguard.
ScooterBJ,I really like your front mudguard mod.The standard KLR front mudguard must be the ugliest mudguard ever made barf....Please tell what mudguard u used, can it be bought off the shelf ?,it will go nicely with my rear mudguard clean-up.

Givi side panniers.
Thicker - 8mm bolt tapped to rear carrier bracket supports.
Aftermarket bolt kit-replaced all standard inferior KLR bolts with QUALITY BOLTS.

Next mods in order of priority.

Front mudguard - same as ScooterBJ`s thumb thumb
Heated grips.
Throttle speed control.
Extended windshield.
Front and rear springs.
Doo.
Fan over rider switch.
