Which battery is best
« on: July 12, 2014, 06:07:35 PM »
I was wondering if someone could recommend a good battery-brand-dry cell or wet? for my KLR650 I am in Australia so I don't want to import anything from over seas, I just want to buy local.

Cheers Mick.

G'day Mick, I've been using a MOTO BATT for a few years now - it's sealed AGM (I think). No dramas with it sitting doing nothing for months on end - but I do charge it with a C-TEK charger occasionally.

They don't fit perfectly, but near enough.

I used some 3/4" garden hose to help hold it in place.

Good luck here with the Odyssey batteries...AGM as well. I added some refrigeration foam to shim the fit.

Well...

After 3+ years of abuse and neglect my MottoBatt died - of course it happened on a ride  :banghead: but at least I was in a small town with phone coverage and auto-club service. We got it started and I could ride home on the fuel I had.

So I bought an Odyssey, only, yes only $195 delivered. No cable adaptor kit needed.
