Thanks just jeff. I have had motorbikes all my life and there is no way that there won't ever be at least one bike in the shed thumb The M109R is ridden just the way it was designed for, cruising the highway. The DR350S enduro is used for getting down and dirty. And the IT250 is a bike i used to race when i was a lot younger, so a few years ago i bought a wrecked one, and instead of restoring it, i turned it into a hybrid, using late model parts from Yamaha, with the thoughts of "if Yamaha were still building 2 stroke enduro bikes, it would probably look something like this"  ?;>]--And the KLR650 was something i have been looking at for some time now. I guess you could say that it is the best of both worlds, a real dual sporter, or adventure bike that does not sway to one discipline more than the other. As a person who has ridden for many years, and still loves the adrenalin rush of getting off the bitumen, without taking unnecessary risks this bike does it for me.  Cheers!

Greetings Fellow KLRers,
Newbie here, I have spent some time on the other site and have just found this one, I have noticed some familiar faces (G'day Hoyks, KLRdavep, Griffo, Tisnow to name a few).

My ride is (in order of farkle fitment):
2005 KLR (bought April this year with 10K on the clock, much to the disgust of my wife), doohickey & spring, thermo-bob, Eagle screens tinted and taller screen, HT (Happy Trails) h'way pegs, D606's front & rear, Ricor Intiminators, ebay pannier racks, staintune, Moose Onyx pegs, HT bashplate, HT centre stand & now just waiting for the new farkle to arrive (Ricor IAS rear shock) smoking.

Really looking forward to the 2010 KLRRR in the snowies next Anzac weekend, this year there were 18 blokes who had a ball at the 2009 KLRRR at Packsaddle and it's looking like that number will swell next year, we have a group of 3 from where I am (Riverland SA) that will probably snowball the closer we get to the Snowies, any of you who are interested:

http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=74709

The group that I will be riding with are looking at making it a week long effort, travelling via as much dirt to get there (3 days), staying at pubs along the way and probably getting home a bit quicker, so if you're interested let me know.

Cheers  Andy

Hi all

I have just bought my KLR and am in the process of fitting everything.
I am from the ACT so if anyone is close by let me know, I would be keen to go for a ride.

The KLRRR ride looks interesting and is just over the hills from my place.

Cheers

Hello all, new to the KLR scene. Just bought an 08 KLR650. I have always ridden dirt bikes, but thought I would give a dual sport ago as well. Live in NSW.

Howdy to all down under.  clap
Met a couple KLR riders in Gippsland north of Tarra Valley on the Grand Ridge Road me on a '07 tour riding a WeeStrom. Had a nice discussion and was shown how the older KLR's were special outfitted for import compared the the US models. Like a two piston rear caliper, etc.
Hope to ride a KLR if ever get a chance to return.  Ride on!

While i am at it, do any of you guys know where you can get a good aftermarket exhaust in Oz for the 250?
These sort of things dont seem to be that easy to find here.
Or any other aftermarket part supplies would be handy as well.

Welcome ScottP    Cheers!

Having spent a lot of time working in Port Hedland I doubt you will find anything there!
But on the east coast here I would try Staintune ($$$) or one of the many wreckers.

Cheers

G'day all from down under!

I'm new to the forum as well!!!

If any of you blokes that live in NSW (penrith area) wanna meet up on weekend for a ride let me know, i havent done much offroad riding but i am very keen to get offroad and learn more techniques as soon as possible!!! i own an 09 KLR650 with pretty much no mods as of yet (till tomorrow), i am re-shaping, getting more foam and covering the seat tomorrow to make the ride a bit more comfier instead of sliding onto the tank all the time!!!

Feel free to send us a message or something if you want to get together for a little adventure. thumb

G'day All,
Just joined this forum recently and thought I'd make myself known.
My name is Glenn and I live 60kms out of Melbourne. I bought a beaut 2002 KLR650C a few weeks back with 34500kms on the dial.
It is a great machine to ride.
I have so far made a mainstand, upgraded the rear subframe bolts, fitted a screen and Barkbusters.
Being a "C" model there are a few issues like non availability of aftermarket mods especially pannier standoff racks.
Everything seems to be for "A" models.
I am currently working on an aluminium bashplate which is proceeding slowly.
The garage also has a Honda Blackbird waiting in it, so now I can go almost anywhere.
Previously had a ZZR1100 and if that was any indication of Kawasaki products I will be very happy!
Cheers
