I have been searching high and low for a more enduro/supermoto style Versys and have heard rumor of a 09 GS model (I am waiting), does anyone have pics or links to a converted Versys ? I dont know if this has already been posted...

The Versys motor would be nice, as would the tall suspension, but at 399 lbs. dry weight it's heavy for a super moto. Of course some weight could be lost at the factory, should Kaw build an SM version, more weight could be lost at home. 350 lbs. dry seems a stretch, but I'd sure like to see them do it. I had a nice SM and it was simply the most FUN motorcycle I ever owned or rode. It was a 660cc single and was about 320 lbs. dry. Light weight is very much part of the SM formula, but an SM "look alike/wannabe" Versys would just rock!

Here's what racing SMs do...the street versions, not so much! No, this guy didn't crash Nice KTM street SM. (I smoked him!) Here's my little MZ Black Panther street SM. I never should have sold her! The bee-yute-i-full Ducati Hypermotard. Not a true SM...just sorta. A Versys SM should be a little closer to the real deal because of less weight. A friend of mine has one of these...guess what? He loves it! Awright, I'm convinced! Bring on the VersyTard!

Man, that 2nd one is cool! Doesn't look like they really changed much...I sure like that headlight better...and no faring. A Super Moto don' need no steenking faring! Well, "Super Moto-Esque" anyway.
I wonder if Kawi had anything to do with this? The sign looks like a German bike shop of some sort.

Here's a nice little mild custom...check the 2 into 2 exhaust & black screen. Green bikes make me bilious and I could do without the Jap writing on the seat! So, guess I gotta vote for the black Super Motard-Esque one...I sure hope Kawi builds that.

Thats nice, Its not quite what I am loooking for but I like it, maybe I should get two, one thats more street oriented (like the one above) and one thats a bit more trail enduro style and just sell the KLR FYI..I stopped by the Kawasaki dealer (N.59 houston) on saturday, they had one 08 red, I asked about the 09s, the sales guy said no information has been released on the 2009s.

If you like a bit more TORQUE (and weight) with your SM, the BMW Megamoto is sure to please! And *only* $25K or so...
