I just installed the newly available sun shield for the AFX 39.

They run around 21.00-27.00 bucks depending on the color. Available in smoke, dark smoke, gold mirror, silver mirror.

I got the dark smoke, took about 30 seconds to install.

Has detents at the full close position, mid way open, and full open, but you can move it pretty much wherever you want it.

I like it!

Thanks for the posting as I was looking at a helmet with an internal shield. Will order one tonight.

So that sun shield goes on the outside?  Not the interior of the helmet?

Glad you posted this Mel!  I haven't been able to find a picture on the internet.

Wish that had been out when they first released, seems like a good idea.

I've gotten so used to riding in goggles I can't see myself switching now.  I leave the clear shield up and just use the goggles unless it gets cold or starts to rain.  Nice in dusty conditions too.

Have about 18k miles on mine now and it's still a great helmet.
 Cheers!

are the shields rubbing when the tinted shield goes from full closed to open and vise versa? I would be worried about dirt/dust getting between there and scratching the in/outside of the shileds. was just curious. either way it's on my "soon" buy list.
