Looking for a good waterproof jacket that I can still wear through the summer if I take the liner out. Mostly commuting but will also be doing dirt roads. Here are the ones I'm looking at right now.

Scorpion Commander Jacket - http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/17376/ITEM/Scorpion-XDR-Commander-Jacket.aspx

Fly Racing Tera Trek - http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/35143/ITEM/Fly-Racing-Tera-Trek-Jacket.aspx

On the high end money-wise would be the Firstgear Kili - http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/16579/ITEM/Firstgear-Kilimanjaro-Jacket.aspx

Anyone have experience with any of these jackets or companies. Anything I should take in consideration?

Thanks

jecklc80,

I do mostly commuting also. I have a first gear rainier jacket with the matching escape pants. They are four season gear and armored. They work great but even with the vents and sleeves open when it gets into the eighties, if I am not moving I get hot. Any jacket that stops water from getting in is usually hot. Some jackets have the water proof membrane as a liner that is removable, these tend to breath better but If you are going to do allot of trails, a motocross setup that keeps you cool and protected might be a better option. you may get wet but at least you will be comfortable. Just my opinion.

Check KLim gear....allot of the off road guys like their jackets. They are a little pricey, but they are 100 water proof.

check out olympia's line, the x-moto is extremely well vented with zip down panels, has a built in hydration pack and removable water proof liner, going to be my next jacket and pants.
