 WOW!

I have seen 2 web posts this week hinting that Kawasaki is working on a Versys 1000 so I decided to stop by my local Kawasaki Suzuki dealership tonight after work.

They were saddling up getting ready for the Kawasaki dealer meeting in Dallas this weekend and said they would let me know what they found out.

The one thing they did know for sure though was that Suzuki has finally officially dropped the V-Strom DL1000 from their lineup for 2009 and they have never had so many people ordering them since that announcement.

If Kawasaki has timed this just right and launches the V1K this weekend while Suzi has her pants down they might just knock another one out of the park!

If anybody knows anything certain please let us all know!!!

I think the Versys made motorcycle of the year for many reasons. I would not think a 1000 cc would be a better bike. It would be a different bike, a faster bike, a heavier bike. Suzuki is dropping the 1000 v strom and I used to visit that forum a lot till I got my Versys. Almost everyone who had the v-strom and the wee-strom said they liked the 650 wee-strom better. There is no way the 1000 versys will be a twin. They would use the 1000 cc motor out of the z1000. And it would have to be reworked.

Being 6'2" @ 330ish I'm affraid the 650 might struggle a bit but I love the Versys platform and have no desire to spend through the nose to acquire a 1200GS and know Suzi has dropped the DL1K.

Maybe the 650 will do just dandy...hopefully soon I'll know!

 I'm cool....
