Hi Guys. My dealer made me an offer, i need advice from you guys.

I have a really sweet and farkled 08 Lime Green KLR. Only 3000 miles on it.
I ride mostly street.

My dealer has a brand new leftover Versys 09. He said he would take my bike and $1700.00 cash.

I like the versys, but did they do an upgrade on them. Is there any problems with the 09?

Would you guy take the deal?

Mike

If it were me...not a chance...I think the Versys is a small to mid sized guys bike...too much like a sport bike sitting position for me. Plus....it isn't a good gravel bike like what the KLR is, is it? Sorry....just my 2 cents worth.  But if you like it, get it.

As I say to all guys on the inter web.......don't ask or tell what you paid for a bike....there will always be someone who will spoil it for you by saying.....you got taken....I got mine for..X$$$$$.....so if the deal is good in your head...take it and keep quiet.... Now listen up...

zippolime,

The versys has more power and gets better gas mileage.  But the fact that you have farkled your 2008 KLR means you like to work on your own stuff. the versys doesn't lend itself to that. Also the insurance is much higher on a twin sport bike than it is on a dual sport single. The versys also had an upgrade to rubber engine mounts in recent years, but I am not sure why. But the main reason that you should keep your KLR is that it is a babe magnet! So you may go farther in less time, but you will lose out on the LaDies! Ride on!.

If you do decide to go with the versys Excuse me? Excuse me? Excuse me? Excuse me? low ball him. He can't unload the versys that is why he is willing to make a deal, so start at a straight trade and work from there.

I traded my '09 KLX250s off on a new green '09 left over last July.  I gave them the bike and $3k for the V and a Icon dual sport helmet.  I had to make a decision about my state of orthopedics and my involvement with riding off road.  I'm toning down the off road stuff to a KLR level and I am falling more and more in love with my green Verseys.  I had that thing out to the Black Hills this year and I had a gas riding that thing on the pavement.  Then I also took along the KLR for the jeep trails.

Anyway, I wouldn't ditch the KLR for the Verseys, I'd ditch the car for the Verseys and keep the 2 bikes.   Greenie
