Howdy.

For those that have owned both, does the Versys use the same chain as the KLR?
What about the countershaft sprocket?

I just bought a new (2009) versys but haven't picked it up yet.  I'm wondering if the
extra DID chain and 16T countershaft sprocket from my KLR will be of any use to me
on the versys or if I shoudl throw them in with the KLR.

Thanks!

You owe me MelonHead...  That's funny ! Just ran down the street to a buds house just as he was heading out on his '10 Versys...it is a 520 O ring chain and it looks as though the sprocket would work. Then on the way back (sweating profusely, I might add!)... I realized it carries a low to midrange street gear box...with a long 6-speed...62 horse engine. Just my opinion... let the chain and sprocket go with the KLR...!    Awesome

Thanks for the update Spanky.

Next question:  What are you guys running for oil in your V's?

I'm hoping to run good old Rotella T in the V since that's what I run in many other vehicles.  That oil was highly recommended with the KLR crowd.

Thanks again.

Chain will work fine. The D.I.D. 520 is routinely used on 600 cc sportbikes that put down 100hp to the rear wheel.
