Hello, i'm becoming crazy.
The last 2 hours i search in Ebay a front Sprocket with 16 for increase a bit the max speed.
I visit de Jt's website and in his charts, my motorbike only can mount the 14 and 15 sprockets.
The ref. is JT F511
I can't find a compatible 16T Sprocket for my Tengai B2 1990.
Please, show me the way ;)
SALUDOS

Sunstar makes a 16t that will fit your KLR. Most aftermarket sprockets I have seen are designed to fit all KLR's. Yours has the two bolt mounting system while later models use the large nut and lock washer.

That one will work. Make sure you ask the seller that it is a 16t. The pic is a 14t.

Hello again, I need your advice... This week i want to change the front sprocket in my Tengai. I open this threat a time ago but i can't do this sice now. This morning i receive the JT sprocket in 16T. I buy it in Ebay and in the bid says thait fits in KLR650. The motor of KLR 650 is the same as the Tengai. Today i enter the JT's Web and i can see that the sprocket for my Tengai don't exist in 16T and the seller send me one that i don't know if it will be compatible. What do you think?? will be compatible?? The sprocket for my moto: http://motoroswebaruhaz.hu/shop_ordered/1192/shop_pic/JTF511.jpgThe sprocket i received: http://www.jcmotors.com/images/Product/medium/JCM-JTF512.15_2_.jpgThe JT recommended is wider than the other... Thanks

I cannot see the second image. I looked on Ebay using the information you provided. It looks as though all numbers are the same with the exception of overall spline slot opening diameter. It should work. Verify fitment and every segment of the installation. Good luck....!

Thanks, all the measurements are the same except the width of the sprocket. In the JT511 (for my moto) is 12,8 and in the JT512 (received) is 8.8.

Looking at all the measurements I cannot see any differences...Tengai/KLR. But I don't want to steer you wrong either!

I'm worried about the width. One have 12,8 and the other 0,88 Maybe the nut don't press the sprocket well...
I don't know...

The important thing maybe the distance kept between the center of the teeth & inside stock of the sprocket where it is next to the seal of the shaft. Chain alinement should be dead on if this is the same a your stock sprocket.

What does the sprocket on your bike look like? Thick or thin?

Looks like the bolt circle diameter for the threaded holes is different too.

This is my new problem. I thought that the sprocket was locked by a nut, but not. He use a locking washer with two bolts. Now, i have to buy one retainer washer for a klr 87-89 for lock the new 16t sprocket.

Drop 3 teeth in your rear & tighten your chain
