Is there such a thing?  Does UFO or Ascerbes make tank shrouds for our bikes?  I sure as hell can't find them anywhere.

I got an Email off him, basically, he had given up on the idea as he had to get a run of 1000 shrouds done in 1 hit, $1000's in outlay with no guarantee of return.

I hit up a local bike plastics retailer and they are looking into getting some made for the '08+ models. We will see if anything happens....

I know its not the answer you're looking for, but an IMS tank will cure the need for tank shrouds. As an added bonus, the IMS is way more crashworthy.

I've got the 6.6 gallon tank on there right now.  I just don't like how it feels so fat and huge it is on there right now.

You know, I can buy aftermarket tank shrouds for a 1992 KX500 but I can't for a KLR650.  I mean wtf?!  They only made that bike the same for 20 damn years in a row and people do need replacement plastics for these things.

Maybe the reason they don't have them in stock is because people break them so often. The shroud design pretty much hangs them right out there for the breaking. That's funny !

Pretty flat plastic, should be no real problem to make some from sheet stock?  We KLRistas tend to be the ultimate DIYers.....    just sayin'.  thinking...

Side plastics would be a bit more challenge.

All they have listed is a front mud guard Hmmmmm....

I sent an Email to a local company that does plastic kits for race bikes. He is off to China to the factory this month, so something might come of it:

Hi Hoyks,

Thanks you very much for your feedback. We really appreciate it.

I haven't owned a KLR myself but a friend of mine has one and he loves it.

I am visiting our supplier in around 2 months so will definitely inquire about the engine shroud plastics that you mention.

$320 is very pricey those plastics! editYes, $320 a side is what they charge us here, and out $ is worth more than the $US WOW!. We get ripped off Arrrrg! /edit

Thanks once again for your feedback. We will let you know if anything develops!

Kind regards,
