hi curvemadd, it would appear that you are the first to attempt this? i'm sure if anybody had any info they would share. have you heard of anybody doing this? i'm curious because someday i want to get a sherpa & i would probably head right for the performance parts myself. best of luck, jeff

Check this... http://www.norriscams.com/   I used to deal with them, they will weld and regrind a cam for anything.
Jeff t, keep a check on this forum after you get your Sherpa, I'm building a 292cc Sherpa right now and will do a report on it after I've done a little testing.

i've not heard of a 292 engine. the only one i've seen is a 330? i assume it's just piston sizes, or is there head work involved?

Can you believe it, the SS and KLX250 have the same bore and stroke + the KLX300 has the same stroke with a 6MM larger piston. So why not put a 300 piston in a SS. That's what Im doing now. Sorry for the  threadjacked
