rear shock: is the KLR600 compatible with the 250?

hello  and an happy xmas to everybody!

my rear shock it's gone.. it can be rebuilded but labor price it's high (200,00 Eu).. here (italy) there are very few 250, but it's still plenty of KLR600, so i was wondering if the 600's shock will fit my 250

i know that the 650 shock can be fitted on the 250 with minor mods... but it's a very rare bike here, that's why i look to the older 600..
