Today I went into the garage and four hours later came out with a new bike. The new needle and adjusting the carb did wonders. I then moded the air box by removing the back fire screen and putting in the kdx snorkle. I just need my HMF slip on to arrive and I will be set. The next mod will be with the suspension. I weigh around 260 and the bike will now bring the front tire up in first and second with ease. I only had two issues that were a pain, that was putting the rubber snorkle from the air box to the carb back on and then hooking up the throttle cables. For everyone who has done this mod and provide info I thank you. I did not do the smog removal stuff, another day perhaps.

Duane5157,

It's simply amazing what happens to the little KLX250S with the mods you've just done.

BTW, a little touch of WD-40 works wonders in getting that pesky snorkle fitted in the airbox lid.

So, what main jet did you use?

On the suspension front - I am hoping beyone hope to get my new suspension components from Moto-Pro Suspension prior to TdA-II.  You can ride the bike to see if there is a difference!

clap Congrats on opening it up!  Just wait until you get your new pipe on and then it will not only act like a new bike, but it will sound like one too.
