I have looked around but have not been able to find what I was looking for.  I had another bike, Yamaha FJR1300A Sport Touring bike that came standard with 2 headlight bulbs that when on both were on and when high beam selected both went to high beam.  KLR should be that way having 2 independent bulbs.  I would like to be able to wire it that way if possible and also to replace the stock 55/60w bulbs with 80/100w bulbs like I did on my FJR and on my Vulcan 800.  I like light out front and don't like the Sport Bikes or others that give you 2 headlight sockets but seem not to utilize them properly.  Any ideas?

Two issues, 1.) No dual filament lamp will, to my knowledge, fit in the H7 socket. 2.) The reflectors are not configured to focus the beams properly from a dual filament lamp. You would need to retrofit some dual beam projector housings or some such to get it to work properly.

What rwven said plus the alternator may have difficulty carrying the extra wattage. You only have maybe 14 amps to work with total. The KLR`s alternator is really just an old rubber shoe rubbing on some carpet inside the motor.
