Picked up a black 2012 KLR today in Greenville SC. Looking forward to riding it and starting the mods. I appreciate all the great info on this forum. Anybody in the upstate area that can recommend some good dirt roads?

Welcome  Welcome

Don't know much about any dirt roads around Greenville, but I grew up in Oconee Co.

Run up Hwy 76  from Westminster to Long Creek. Lot's of good FS roads and things to see (Chauga and Chatooga Rivers waterfalls etc) in that area.

Check out the South East forum for local rides.

 Welcome

I hope to be getting out and riding again soon.  I know some places to ride. :)

I'm not ready to tackle the bad-good gravel roads quite yet, so we can start you off on some good-good gravel.

I live in Liberty but work in downtown G'ville.

PM me and we can try to set something up.

For ride reports and info from locals, go to the ADV website and to regional forums. You will find "inmates" close by you that will give you more info on rides than you can handle.
Congrats on the new bike and thanks for your service!

You all won't mind an unsat hippie jarhead rotor-winger joining your platoon would you? I mean, really, you never know when you might need a washed up 53 mech in there somewhere.
