which is best? (yes, I used the search feature, and read the reviews on it). On my old 05, I had the tallest windshield I could get, and it worked great...

I have an 09 now, and am torn. I notice that there is much less buffeting on the 09 than my 05, due to the new design of the tank panels and fairing. Nonetheless, there are times when I catch a gust of wind at my chest when riding on the interstate at about 75mph that I'd like to put an end to. My first thought is to get the Zero Gravity Sport Touring, but I really like the look of the Double Bubble.

I'm only 5ft 10in, 185 lbs. Since I'm not extremely tall, I don't necessarily think I need the Sport Touring, but I hate to get the Double Bubble, and it not be adequate. I'd hate for that wind that was hitting my chest start hitting my head. That would be worse.

For those that are my height, what do you think about the double bubble on the interstate? Any problems with it at high speed (75mph and up)? Is is adequate?

What you need to find is a member that had both and can really speak to the change from one to another, but I will say that I am very pleased with the KLRdash  windshield riser with the Zero Gravity Sport Touring. Anything better would require a Goldwing! Maybe a similar set up with the Double Bubble would be about the same, but I can not speak to that as I went straight to the taller sport touring version.

I know exactly what you mean...I'd like to hear from someone who has had both, but someone with either one who is my height would be great. I'm not really a fan of the risers, and I don't need the dash, so I don't want to go that route.

The riser is really what changed everything. The stock angle is not allowing the tall screen to move the air up over you. The ZG ST alone did not get me (5'8") out of the way of the air. The upper half of the helmet was in the wind blast, the lower was not and right about mid face shield was the transition point. Like that, my helmet was so noisy and my head would get modulated back and forth on the highway. It did not really totally bounce my brain, but there was constant pushing from alternating sides. It kind of sucked.

By changing the screen to the more upright angle, you end up getting more of the screen turned into vertical height and also the angle throws the air up and over your lid. That puts your brain bucket out of that transition area where things are really loud and takes away almost all of the side to side pushing.

Whatever you do, give a try and see how it works out. Maybe see if any fellows from on this site live near enough to you for a meet up that have the riser, and try a bike swap for 5 or 10 miles to get a feel for that riser. You just might decide that the riser is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Or you might fricken hate it and all it stands for  barf...

decided to get NEITHER. Just can't justify the extra $100 bucks when the stock shield isn't that bad. I'll make due and use the money for something cooler.

Yep ...did the same. Contempated several options and settled on stock. At 5' 7 and 999/1000" I just tuck under and the buffet hits the top of the helmet!  That's funny !  Awesome

I don't know if I can help as much as you're looking for since I've only used the Double Bubble and I'm 6'1".  I got the taller windscreen to block out some of the cold air on winter rides in CO.  I was definitely warmer with the DB but the buffeting hits me in the helmet and the wind noise is deafening after about a half hour.  I stand up on the peddles to feel the fresh air and quiet for a bit.  Before resuming my position ducked down behind the windscreen.  This get really annoying after a few cycles.  I have to lift off the seat about 3-4" to lessen the noise.  Don't know if this helps but that's my experience with the DB.

I got the zg touring and it made the wind noise worse. Added a klr dash and wind hits the top 2" of my helmet. Added a laminar lip and it's all good. In retrospect I'd like to try a kawi talk screen with laminar lip- that'd probably work well. I'm 6'2" and all torso, like a penguin.

Zero gravity has an outlet store online that I got mine from for 50% off.  It has some tiny defects in the plastic that are almost invisible.  You may have to check back on their site from time to time to get what you want.  After a few bug splats who cares.  An unofficial tip on choosing what height to get.. get a carpenters level sit on the bike and measure from the top of the screen to your chin.  It should be that or a little higher.  If you trail ride keep in mind this is the first thing you'll kiss on the way over the handle bars.  PS not every kiss is a show of love...
