Anyone went from having a KLR and then getting the urge to move up to a Vstrom... and then for whatever reason decided to go back to the KLR and have been happy with their decision?

I'm a avid longtime KLR rider - 02 bought new just turned over 42k.  I know there are some who have moved on from the KLR to the Vstrom, and some who have added the Vstrom in addition to the KLR.  I'm just curious if any have gone back to the KLR as their main ride.  I've ridden a little of everything with the KLR, but end up doing most of the miles on the road.  Other bikes have come and gone, but I've kept the KLR as my main ride because of comfort.

I've got the opportunity for a possibly trip north this year, but don't want one big trip to dictate what bike I will end up riding long term.  Any feedback would be great.

Be patient, you can't really expect to have an answer in an hour.

I've kept my KLR while owning a VStrom. Once set up the Wee was a perfect mate to the KLR. I took it on the longer highway rides and loved the way it handled the twisties. Different seat, KLR OEM handlebars and Emulators for the forks was about all that it took to feel right for me.

But I had to give it up during a divorce and now the KLR rules the shop while keeping her eye on the 05 R1200 GS that replaced the Wee.

I had the V Strom 1000 to begin with, sold it and bought the V Strom 650 (much better bike). After 3 more years sold the 650 Strom and bought a KLR650. Had it a couple of years, and then sold it. Bought a Versys 650 had it one year, sold it and bought my current KLR650. Been there, done that!
I'm Good! Awesome
