Installed WOLO BAD BOY, and boy is it loud...wired it up, but have the horn button on order, since i ran a separate horn. i wanted to keep the stock horn for comparison, and as a friendly hello to other bikers without blasting them off the road. Ride on!

Well poor Spirit, she's having all sorts of stuff go wrong with her lately.
Had to use JB weld today to close crack in carburetor elbow. It seems to have stopped the gas from squirting out of there. I had been wondering why I was using so much gas. Not only was the choke cable jammed by a little rock, the little metal carb elbow was spewing gas. Ordered a new one and two o-rings. Hope my quick fix will last till Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed.! thinking...

Got my 600 mile post-break-in service done at the dealer today. The bike feels pretty good now that I can wind it above 4k without feeling guilty. :)

Got my first flat while riding the KLR.  Waaaaa!
Got a screw through the rear tire and found out how much fun it is to get the rear sliding out on a corner when not expecting it. Holy smokes!
So needless to say now have new rear tire and tube installed.  I'm cruizin'

I've been mostly rid'n lately but did a little tightening up  on Desiree' yesterday the normal Air/Oil filter oil change, new Vapor dash cover (out of 1/8" grey plexiglass with 5% tint) to stop the night time glare, I've been blocking it with my camera swiveled up on a velcro covered Ram mounted  on the tree, but finally took the time to make the cover,  remounted the new Montana, still checking for vibration induced white outs... re-velcroed the Lynx to tightenn everything up a bit and stick things too, then right stuffed the Heat troller,  and did final tweaking on the H-L beams for the best lighting.

 burnout
Buuuut tomorrow the real fun will begin.... joker Install the new 705 with Stage2 cams, fully ported with 1mm over valves, MUCH HIGHER compression ratio, and an ol' style KLR600 tranny (lower 1-2-3  Yeehaa!)  with a kickstarter... starting to get exited a bit now Greenie

Today? Handlebar risers from Eagle Mike went in. That extra inch and a half is nice, and when I get the lower pegs from Knight (Friday?) I should be in real good shape for standing on the pegs. But today's a light-duty day. I'm mostly working on painting the garage.

Yesterday was: chain clean and lube; general nuts and bolts patrol (five more got blue loctited because they'd worked loose); and putting in the two seat washers I'd dropped when putting on the Coleman ATV "seat protector" last week.

Tomorrow, I'll be off to ride the OHM-friendly part of the Gandy-Dancer trail north of Danbury, WI and in MN as a shakedown cruise. I'm hoping to try and ride the TWAT in August and I need to get some gravel and crushed rock trail time before even thinking about the mud and sand I'll find in northern WI.

I'm hoping that the new (blue to match the bike!) pegs will arrive on Friday, as will the LED voltmeter. Those will get bolted on, and while I've got the dash apart, I'll figure out why my LED turn-signal indicators on the dash aren't indicating - I suspect one of my splices has come loose. Should have it all buttoned up again for some sort of ride on Saturday to see if I can get five twos on the odometer (counting the tenths).

I keep meaning to post photos, but then I forget to stop with the bike anywhere scenic because I'm having too much fun riding. Oops.

Fed up with the constant bottoming of the forks I ordered another new set of springs today! Current set up is race tech gold vales with cogent dynamics progressive springs. Race tech recommended 7.5 straight rate springs and 150mm of air space with new oil. Wednesday can't come soon enough! I'm like a freakin kid waiting for Christmas... Lol :)

Grinding shield windshield.  After several homemade ones of various height,  I tried the fringing shield and really liked it today over  a 200 mile on/off road ride.  With my cut fairing it was good.  The firm round shape actually shaped my Tupperware kind of round also .
