RATING : 2

Just having dropped my wife off in Boulder for the afternoon, I decided to head up Flagstaff and over to Magnolia rd via rd 68J and get some practice in and enjoy the good weather. This can be a loop from Boulder- over to Magnolia and then down Boulder Canyon OR an out-n-back. I made it an out-n-back to maximize the dirt experience.

{map soon}

After a fun winding climb the road started by gross resevoir, which has plans to increase in size sometime

it sure was fun.

most of it was like this, a nice county dirt road

but the west side started with some whoop-de-doos (where I dropped the bike once trying to get ove a whoop)

and some rocks

but the views were amazing (where I dropped the bike again, just because)

next time it will be longer. I saw two bikes on the dirt (one stopped and we talked a bit) and several on Flagstaff cruising around.

Funny things can happen when you're on pain meds. Nice looking part of the world you have there Orco.

I must say that I'm a little bit jealous. We have no hills in my nabour hood. But just wait, I have planned a weekend ride with my friend -Dr. a DR 750 owner. We are going to ride an old war time train road trip. It is a funny ride now, but those days, 70 years ago there died and suffered as well German as Soviet (yes it was Soviet Union those days) war prisoners. The German prisoners were their own. German army tried to make a rail road to the east and service their and our troops. I believe, that main idea was to cut Western help from Murmansk to rest of Soviet Union. Actually Finland did "own" Murmansk a short period, but most of its history it has belonged to Russia and before that to Saame people, who are native Laplanders in North.
P.S. Sorry for for my not so good English, but life is a continuous learning, riding and an adventare, as my brother says. (about the last one, I have added two first ones). And finally, thank you Spell Check.
