En Route to Alaska

Got the epic ride started Friday June 1 as planned. Made over 900km's on first days ride and camped west of Prince George BC at Beaumont Prov. Park. Cost me $8.00 as a senior to for one night. Not the first time I verbally altered my age.... Norm runs the Park, nice fella. Lotsa wildlife (uhh animals) on the roads, almost bagged a goat on a twisty section in Alberta, when it dropped off a rock ledge in front of me..... by shear luck I was gearing down and had lost a lot of speed going up a grade. Dave S 1/Goat 0. Bears by the dozens out along the roads.
June 2nd rode to Kinaskin Lake Park, still in BC, another $8.00 overniter at a very nice lakeside site. Mid day at the service staion in Dease Lake, i met up with a rider on a Triumph Tiger, from Los Angeles, We road together until Junction 37/Alaska 1. About 4 hours of the ride was in rain/hail and some nasty stretches of BC #37, pot holes, small washouts HEADS UP or ELSE.
Los Angeles parted for Teslin, but I was getting a little hypothermic and pulled into mile 710, Rancheria Yukon and got a room with heat to dry out my soggy butt and gear. The weather map indicates rain and more rain all over the Yukon so I will service the bike this morning and see if it lets up for a sprint to Whitehorse.
Ya ya I know WHERES THE PICTURES !!!! later OK.
PS. the bike is running like a fine swiss watch..

Dave S, you got a earlier start than many do on that ride. Early in the year there is lots of unstable weather......... But you should beat the crowds.
Good to hear that you are off to a good start. How long and how far are you going.

You must have talked about the ride Friday night around the Tech Day campfire..... the one I missed.
This is the ride that we all talk about and don't do.
Saw a moma Moose and a new born baby in the road SR20 E yesterday.
Ride safe and post often.
