Southern leaves

I finally got away yesterday for a few hours and rode up to the mountains to see the leaves before they are gone. Overcast, gusty wind and cool temps made the trip a little less enjoyable, but it was still a good ride. I got a few pics before they are all gone.
The kudzu is still green in most places
Several fields were still green as well
Still a fair amount of color even though the sun wasn't out
It was nice along the rivers
Found a few nice gravel roads along the way
A few decent twisties to play on
Looks like they tried to hook up and get out before the kudzu monster got em...didn't make it
The leaves will be gone soon,at least I got a little peak at them

Nice stuff Mac, thanks for taking me along for the virtual ride. Non of that looks familiar to me so I'll have to add that to stuff I need to ride.

Nice pics Mac! Question...what color does the kudzu change to? There's so much of it down there, I'll bet it looks nice once it's changed.

I just turns an ugly brown and dies. The leaves that is, nothing seems to kill the kudzu. Guess it's one of those things thats just too ugly to die.

When it turns brown it looks like a big brown nasty weed patch(which it is). The roots are very deep. I tried to poison some on my property but couldn't kill it with what I had. I ended up plowing deep several times with my tractor, eventually digging up the roots and killing most of it.
To me it looks best when it's lush and green...and on someone elses property.

I recognized the house on 28 and the river on Needmore. Other photos didn't stand out to me though. Leatherman Gap is scenic, nice dirt, nearby and easily done on a strom if you're back in that area- maybe you've already been there. There's also a nice side road off the start of leatherman that runs past an old cabin with a 60+ ft waterfall in it's backyard. Visible all year but in another week or so enough leaves will be down that it'll be very scenic.

I rode to Tenn. today to check on a few items so I hit a few backroads. The weather was nice, the sun was out and it was a great day for a ride. I thought the leaves were about done last week but boy was I wrong.
North Georgia had a little color
I got into N.C. and the leaves got better. Some of the lake levels are really low
I saw 4 deer(center right of pic) crossing at the lake bottom
The backroads were looking nice
I put several miles on gravel roads, they seemed to have better colors
A decent river shot
I took an alternate route around a log truck and stumbled on this place
Today's ride was much nicer than last week's ride. It was a good day to play hookie.

Gorgeous area Brad. Tell you what...send me some of your nice weather, and I'll ship you down all our excess rain! Our cricks have been at bank top (and beyond) all year.
Thanks for the pics.
